A modest gathering of Falls Church citizens attended another public town hall meeting Saturday to discuss what to include, or exclude, in a “request for proposal” that the City Council will authorize this coming week. The request will then go out to prospective developers of the near 40-acre site that is home to the City’s high and middle schools that was transferred into the City limits as part of the deal to sell the City water system to Fairfax County.
Ideas included moving the library into a new building on the site as a more efficient option to a renovation at its current site, and a “Singapore model” of very high density commercial development by the West Falls Church Metro station with the aim of attracting outside dollars.
