The City of Falls Church celebrated Independence Day on Saturday by carrying on with two City traditions – the Independence Day readings sponsored by the Village Preservation and Improvement Society and the July 4th Celebration at George Mason High School, which was sponsored by the City.

At the Village Preservation and Improvement Society event on Saturday afternoon, attendees took turns reading from four documents that formed a ideological basis for American democracy. The Beach Bumz performed live at the July 4th Celebration at Mason as celebrants gathered from around Northern Virginia to commemorate the founding of the nation and watch fireworks. Check out our photo gallery below for images of both events.
