The Master Gardeners of Norther Virginia are presenting a workshop called Container Gardening and Composting in Small Spaces next Saturday, July 11, from 10:30 a.m. – noon at Burke Branch Library, 4701 Seminary Road, Alexandria.
The portion of the program on container gardening will focus on how to select the right spots for pots and plants, preparing for planting and how to keep plants healthy. The composting segment will cover small-scale composting in a backyard, on a balcony or indoors. Topics will include what to put in a compost pile, how to maintain it so the materials break down and how to us finished compost.
