City of F.C. Continues Independence Day Tradition

UPDATE: This report has been changed to reflect an update of the parking restrictions released by the City of Falls Church.

The City of Falls Church continues its annual Independence Day tradition, hosting its annual fireworks display at George Mason High School next Saturday, July 4.

Seating is available at Jack Gambill Athletic Fields and the Northern Virginia Graduate Center Parking Lot. Live music will start at 7 p.m. and fireworks will start at 9:20 p.m.

Blankets and flat-based chairs are allowed for seating on the field. Food, drinks and ice cream will be sold on site, but alcohol, smoking, fireworks and pets are not permitted. In the event of rain, the celebration will be held on July 5 at the same location and time.

On July 4 from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., parking will be restricted on some streets that are within City limits and near Mason, so that emergency vehicles can use residential streets. The following streets will have restricted parking to one side of the street only: Birch Street, Spruce Street, Offut Drive and Falls Avenue. Parking will also be restricted to one side of Grove Avenue as well, but only from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. For more information, call 703-248-5178 or visit fallschurchva.gov/644/July-4th-Celebration.
