It’s supposed to hit 65 degrees this Saturday and that’s reason enough to celebrate. But to math lovers everywhere, March 14 is a celebration of that oh-so-magical ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. That’s right, tomorrow is Pi Day.

While many may be content furiously calculating circumferences on their computers at home this weekend, arguably the better way to revel in the glory of mathematics is with a calculator and a trip to Falls Church’s 2941 Restaurant where the celebration will be all about pies. See, homophones can be fun and tasty.

Today and tomorrow, 2941 goes sweet and savory with the pastries, as executive chef Bertrand Chemel presents two meal-worthy pies including a Duck Pithivier ($22) stuffed with duck, pork and foie gras and a potato pie ($18) with shaved black truffles and creme fraiche. On the sweet side, 2941’s RAMMY award-winning pastry chef Caitlin Dysart is hooking up three dessert options (or lunch or dinner – we won’t judge): a triple-chocolate pecan, apple and banana cream for $8 a slice.

Pi(e) Day specials will be available Friday, March 13 at lunch and dinner and Saturday, March 14 for dinner only.

2941 Restaurant is located at 2941 Fairview Park Drive in Falls Church.
