Va. Department of Transportation Holding I-66 Information Sessions Next Week

The Virginia Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, will hold information meetings about plans to transform 25 miles of I-66, between Route 15 in Haymarket and I-495 in Fairfax County, an into a mixed-use corridor that will provides congestion relief and new travel choices.

The meetings are intended to gain public input and provide information about alternatives being evaluated for I-66, including key interchanges, express lanes, high-frequency bus service with predictable travel times and direct access to new or expanded commuter lots. There will be four meetings, all of which will be held from 6 – 8 p.m.

On Monday, Jan. 26, the meeting will be held at Oakton High School, located at 2900 Sutton Road, Vienna. On Tuesday, Jan. 27, the meeting will be held at Bull Run Elementary School, located at 15301 Lee Hwy., Centreville. On Wednesday, Jan. 28, the meeting will be held at Battlefield High School, located at 15000 Graduation Dr., Haymarket and on Thursday, Jan. 29, the meeting will be held at the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Northern Virginia District office, located at 4975 Alliance Dr., Fairfax.
