Falls Church resident Clare Paoletta, a freshman midfielder/forward on Fordham University’s women’s soccer team, was named the Atlantic 10 conference’s Rookie of the Week last week.
It was the first career weekly award for Paoletta, who graduated from Georgetown Visitation in the spring of 2014. She scored scored her first two career goals in an Oct. 31 match against St. Bonaventure University.
Both goals were scored in the last 25 minutes of the match to give the Fordham Rams their eighth win of the year. They finished the season with a 8-9-1 record. Paoletta was also named the Co-Rookie of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
