Village Preservation and Improvement Society Holds Fall Meeting this Sunday

vpis_logoThe Village Preservation and Improvement Society is holding its fall membership meeting this Sunday, Nov. 9, from 3 – 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, located at 400 N. Oak St., Falls Church. Following a brief business meeting, there will be two panel discussion related to the future of Falls Church.

First, Falls Church City ‘s Director of Recreation and Park Danny Schlitt, Recreation and Parks Committee Chair Steve Selby and Planning Commission member Rob Meeks will be featured in a discussion about the expansion and maintenance of open space in the city in face of increasing development.

The second panel discussion will be about the various plans under consideration for the expansion of Mary Riley Styles Public Library. Mary McMahon, director of Mary Riley Styles Library, and Bradley Gernand, chairman of the library’s board of trustees, will be featured on that panel.

Each panel discussion will run about 10 – 15 minutes and will include a period for questions from the audience. Refreshments will be served after the panels are finished. For more information, visit vpis.org.
