Last week’s robbery of BB&T Bank on West Broad Street is the big item in the latest City of Falls Church Crime Report. The suspect in the October 21 heist was arrested last Thursday.
Also in this week’s report, there were four DUIs including one incident where at 34-year old Alexandria woman crashed her vehicle on Noland Street and was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, a noise violation on Broad Street, a simple assault and trespass at Panera Bread and two reports of cars broken into.
City of Falls Church Crime Report: October 20 -26, 2014
Driving Under the Influence and Narcotics Violation 200 block Noland St. On Oct. 20, officers responded to the area for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The driver, a female, 34, of Alexandria, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Possession of Marijuana.
Robbery, 191 W. Broad St. (BB&T Bank) On Oct. 21, a subject entered the bank, handed a note to a victim teller demanding money, and received an undisclosed amount of cash before
fleeing the bank. The subject is described as a black male with unshaven facial hair, 6’2″ to 6’3″ tall, and 240 to 250 pounds. He was wearing a black stocking cap, sunglasses, gray longsleeved t-shirt, jeans and black and white athletic shoes.
Noise Violation, 830 W. Broad St. On Oct. 23, a male, 63, of Leesburg, was arrested and released on summons for a Noise Violation.
Larceny from Motor Vehicle, 6763 Wilson Blvd. (Planet Fitness) On Oct. 24, police received a report that a subject entered an unoccupied vehicle and stole cash from a wallet.
Driving Under the Influence, 400 block Hillwood Ave. On Oct. 24, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 52, of Annandale, was
arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test, 100 block S. Virginia Ave. On Oct. 24, an officer responded to the area for a report of an accident. One of
the drivers, a male, 55, of Arlington, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test.
Simple Assault and Trespass, 450 W. Broad St. (Panera Bread) On Oct. 25, a male, 30, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested for Simple Assault and Trespassing.
Larceny from Motor Vehicle, 100 block S. Washington St. On Oct. 25, a window was smashed and a purse was reported stolen from the victim’s vehicle.
Driving Under the Influence, Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test, and Public Drunkenness, 100 block S. Virginia Ave. On Oct. 25, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 28, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test. The passenger, a male, 31, of Falls Church, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Graffiti, 1100 W. Broad St. On Oct. 26, graffiti were found on a traffic box.
