Simon Lundquist, an eighth grader at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School, won the Intellectual Property Owners Education Foundation’s (IPOEF) IP Video Contest in late August. Simon’s winning entry was a video in which explained the importance of the patent system.

He was one of two children in the 13 – 15 year-old division to win either a $5,000 cash prize or a scholarship from the IPOEF.

“We were impressed with how thoughtfully this year’s winners were able to draw a connection between themselves, the IP system, and the economy as a whole,” said IPOEF president Louis Foreman.

Simon will be honored at the IPOEF’s Awards Dinner on Dec. 9, 2014 in Washington, D.C.
