F.C. Resident Completes Peace Corps Service

Katherine Turner, 25, of Falls Church completed a term with the Peace Corps in early August.

She was an economic development volunteer in Costa Rica working to improve local businesses and non-profit development through education planning and management courses.

Turner, a graduate of George Mason High School, is the daughter of Susan Monteverde and Bruce Turner of Falls Church.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC in 2011.

Turner was a marketing and development associate at Creative Cauldron in Falls Church for a year prior to joining the Peace Corps. Turner was one of 267 Virginia residents serving in the Peace Corps.

She is currently working with two non-profit groups in Costa Rica and will return to the U.S. in May 2015.
