Jody’s Jam of the Week: DC Shorts Film Festival

Dubbed the “Coolest Short Film Festival” by Moviemaker Magazine, the DC Shorts Film Festival is going on now at three area theaters, including the Angelika Film Center in Mosaic. Throughout the 11-day festival, 135 films, each between two and 30 minutes long, will be screened, including 17 different 90-minute film showcases highlighting a mix of subjects and genres.

In addition to the films, there will be Q&As, filmmaker workshops and parties. Also on tap, a screenplay competition where the audience will get a chance to hear a table reading of six screenplays and then vote for the winner, who will win $2,000 to shoot their project.
