2941’s Dysart to Demo at Saturday Farmers’ Market

Caitlin Dysart, pasty chef of 2941,will be the featured chef in the next installment of this season’s Falls Church Farmers’ Market Chef Demonstration series this Saturday, July 19.

Dysart was recently recognized as Pastry Chef of the Year at the 2014 Rammy Awards, a gala recognizing accomplishments in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area’s food and dining industry. Dysart will be making Butterscotch Budino with stone fruit marmalade and thyme. She will demonstrate how to make marmalade using fruit found at the farmers’ market, and will also show visitors how to make budino (similar to pudding), which involves caramelizing brown sugar.

As with all demonstrations, recipes and tastings will be available from 9 – 11 a.m. The Falls Church Farmers’ Market is located in the City Hall parking lot at 300 Park Ave. For more information, visit fallschurchfarmersmarketchef.com.
