F.C. City Treasurer Cathy Kaye to Resign

DSC01262Falls Church City Treasurer Cathy Kaye has announced that she will resign effective July 18, citing health reasons.

“I just can’t tell you how wonderful this City has been to me,” Kaye  said while making her announcement at the Falls Church City Council meeting tonight. Kaye has served as the City’s treasurer since November 2006.

“It has been the most fulfilling time of my life,” Kaye said.

City Council members expressed their gratitude for her service, not only in her office but in other roles in the community, and gave her a standing ovation.

“Every good thing is what we all hope for you,” City Council member Phil Duncan said.

City staff are currently researching protocol for filling the position of an elected official like the Treasurer.
