Volunteer Positions Available in Fairfax County for Elderly Assistance

Fairfax County seeks volunteers to fulfill several duties in the service of older adults in the Northern Virginia area.

Volunteer advocates for residents of nursing homes and assistant living facilities are needed throughout Northern Virginia as part of the Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program. Fairfax County’s Respite Care Volunteers give family caregivers of older adults a break. Volunteers visit and oversee the safety of elderly adults for a few hours each month. Fairfax County needs volunteer on-call IT specialists to help older adults; the schedule is flexible. The Lewinsville Senior Center in McLean needs a certified volunteer Zumba instructor and an office assistant. The James Lee Senior Center in Falls Church needs a line dance instructor for a beginner class on Mondays from 10 a.m. – noon. The Bailey’s Senior Center in Falls Church needs office assistance with the front desk and data entry Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Meals on Wheels needs drivers in Franconia, Reston, McLean, and Falls Church. Fairfax County needs volunteers to drive older adults to medical appointments and wellness programs.
