La Caraqueña Celebrating 7 Years in Falls Church with Dining Room Renovation

lacaraquenaLa Caraqueña, the popular Latin American restaurant attached to the Stratford Motor Lodge, will be closed the beginning of next week while its dining room gets an overhaul.

In celebration of its seven-year anniversary, owner and chef Raul Claros says the Falls Church restaurant will undergo a complete renovation of its inside to feature a more upscale design from F.C. interior design firm, The Mill Company. The prices will remain the same but Claros says he’s giving the menu a “little twist” along with the new look. A redesign of the outside of the restaurant will come later, in about two weeks, and include a new canopy and water misters. “We feel we will have  the hottest patio in Falls Church with water misters like in Miami Beach and warmers for the colder days,” Claros told the News-Press.

La Caraqueña will be closed Monday, May 26 through lunch on Wednesday, the 28th.  The new dining room will debut at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for dinner service which will include free sangria, drink specials and salsa lessons beginning at 9 p.m. Claros expects a crowd and encourages would-be diners to secure reservations in advance.

La Caraqueña is located at 300 West Broad Street in Falls Church.
