Funeral for Long-Time F.C. Resident Bob Grille Saturday, April 12

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Falls Church Presbyterian Church for J. Robert Grille, a long-time Falls Church resident and public accountant who died at the age 90 on March 30. In business since 1953, he teamed with Betty Ellis in 1973 to form the Grille and Ellis firm in Falls Church.

A deacon and elder in the F.C. Presbyterian, he and Ellis dined often at Ireland’s Four Provinces in Falls Church, according to friend Paul Barkley. In his youth, according to Barkley, Grille attended Falls Church’s old Madison School in the mid-1930s, and at a 2003 VPIS “Going on the Village” cable access TV show he was among former students from that school in that era. He displayed a report card from 1935-36 on that show. It showed he received “all A’s” and got a written statement from Barkley’s mother that he, indeed, was on the school Honor Roll.
