Ziskind Memorial to Sponsor Parenting Workshop March 29

The Jerry Ziskind Memorial Fund, established in memory of veteran Mount Daniel School teacher Jerry Ziskind, will be sponsoring a parenting workshop next Saturday, March 29, from 1 – 4 p.m. at Green Hedges School in Vienna.

The workshop – Building Stronger Families: Raising Confident and Compassionate Kids – will be led by Dara Feldman, an award-winning educator, motivational speaker, and author of The Heart of Education: Bringing Joy, Meaning and Purpose Back to Teaching and Learning. Feldman is a National Board Certified Teacher and was honored as Disney’s 2005 Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Ziskind was a first-grade teacher for 18 years at Mount Daniel School. As a tribute to his commitment to the ethical development of children, the Northern Virginia Ethical Society established the Jerry Ziskind Memorial Fund. The fund’s mission is to honor Ziskind’s legacy by sponsoring programs focusing on the growth of ethical behavior in children.
