Kearney Re-Elected School Board Chair

As the first order of business at its first meeting of the new year Tuesday night, Susan Kearney was re-elected chair of the Falls Church School Board in a unanimous vote of her colleagues. For vice-chair, Justin Castillo was elected by a 4-3 margin over incumbent vice-chair John Lawrence. The board adopted a Code of Civility that has become an annual gesture, and entertained George Mason High School students from its fall sports teams, including field hockey, football and boys and girls cross country before hearing Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones present her recommended budget for the coming fiscal year.
