Dates & Charity Picked for Debut Strange Bedfellow Play

The growing number of civic groups that have teamed up to raise money for cancer treatment, organizing under the name Strange Bedfellow, have chosen Life with Cancer as the charity that will receive all proceeds of its February performances of “The Actual Dance.” Life with Cancer, part of INOVA Health Services, helps patients and their families in the Falls Church area, providing education, information, and support, free of charge.

Playwright and actor Sam Simon, father of newly elected House of Delegates member Marcus Simon, has agreed to forgo fees and expense reimbursement to present his play, “The Actual Dance.”

Performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, at Creative Cauldron, located at ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple Ave.

Organizations currently committed to helping include American Legion Post 130, the Falls Church Lions Club, the Catholic War Veterans, the Falls Church area branch of the American Association of University Women, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Falls Church Democrats and Republicans, the Cherrywood Homeowners Association, the Greater Hillwood Citizens Association, the Village Preservation and Improvement Society, Greater Falls Church Veterans, the League of Women Voters, and Boy Scout Troop 349, which will provide ushers and ticket takers.
