Jody’s Jam of the Week: Hats Off to Dr. Seuss!

Bartholomew Cubbins had a whole lot of hats. Five hundred to be exact. Mr. Cubbins was featured in the second book by Ted Geisel, AKA Dr. Seuss, and the titular character could very well have been modeled after the author himself.

Hats Off to Dr. Seuss! is an exhibition featuring a selection of never-been-seen, never-traveled-outside-his-home hats from Dr. Seuss’s private collection, collected by the children’s author over a period of 60 years. In addition to the headwear, a collection of Dr. Seuss “secret art” will also be on display. Dr. Seuss Collection Curator Bill Dreyer will unveil the hat collection this Saturday at P&C Art Gallery in Alexandria. The exhibition runs through Sunday, November 17.
