Creative Cauldron will present the second Cay Wiant Memorial Storytelling Event this coming Sunday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m.  Supported by a grant from the Village Preservation and Improvement Society, the event is free to the public and intended as a gift to the citizens of Falls Church who, like Wiant, appreciate the art, beauty, and value of storytelling.

Wiant was a longtime teacher in the Falls Church City Schools, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of VPIS. She was also a talented storyteller, and performed in numerous venues both in and outside the City.

In her honor, Creative Cauldron and VPIS will present Tales from the Pacific Islands, an interactive performance featuring professional actors joined by Vivian Takafuji and her Polynesian dance troupe Ta’ata Roiroi. The show highlights the stories, music, and culture of Tahiti, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. Using imaginative storytelling, dance, and the inventive puppets of Creative Cauldron’s scenic designer Margie Jervis, performers will share ancient tales.

The performance will take place at ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple Ave., Falls Church. Admission is free, but reservations are recommended. Tickets can be reserved at creativecauldron.org/caywiant_219.html.
