Mason Athletic Hall Inductions Set for Oct. 18 – 19

The George Mason High School Athletic Hall of Fame will hold induction ceremonies over the weekend of Oct. 18-19. Inductees and honorees will be recognized at the Friday, Oct. 18, home football game against Warren County High School.

Inductions will then be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Mustang Gym at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School. A reception will begin that evening at 5:30 p.m., and the induction ceremonies will commence at 7 p.m.

Inductees and honorees are: Kenneth “Powers” Shutts, Class of 1957, for track and football; Todd McNab, Class of 1964, for football and baseball; Colleen Winzeler, Class of 2000, for cross-country and track; Alex Fatovic, Class of 2004, for soccer; Alison Penland, Class of 2004, for soccer and cross-country; Matt Williams, Class of 2004, for football, basketball, and lacrosse; Maggie O’Toole, Class of 2006, for basketball and cheer; the 1986 boys’ tennis team; and the 1962 baseball team.

Travis Greene, Class of 2006, to be honored for football, basketball, and track, is unable to attend and will defer induction until later.

Food and beverages will be served at the Saturday night reception. The cost of admission is $15 per person.
