Violinist Regni and Pianist McCune to Perform F.C. Church Recital

328concertViolinist Marissa Regni and pianist Wesley McCune will present the music of Grieg and Dvorak this Sunday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m. at First Christian Church.

The concert will also feature Massanet’s ethereal “Meditation from Thais” and the poignant “Ashokan Farewell” from the Ken Burns film “The Civil War.”

As the principal second violinist of the National Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Manchester String Quartet and the Kennedy Center Chamber Players, as well as a featured soloist with many orchestras, Marissa Regni is widely known as an exceptional musician.

Wesley McCune performs frequently in the area as a soloist and chamber player. He also is a music teacher at John Adams Elementary School, where he and his students have won multiple awards for excellence.

The concert is free; contributions to the church’s organ console refurbishment fund will be appreciated.
