F.C. City Announces Affordable Housing Lottery Winners

328housingThe City of Falls Church held a lottery last Tuesday to award eight rental apartments through the Affordable Dwelling Unit Program. Winners were selected from over 20 eligible households. Seven of the units are located at the new Northgate Apartments (450 N. Washington St.), which are scheduled to open this winter. The remaining unit is at Pearson Square (410 S. Maple Ave.). Members of the Housing Commission and City Council, as well as family and friends of those in the lottery came out to wish participants well. Administered by Housing and Human Services (HHS), the program aims to provide affordable homeownership opportunities in the City. ADUs are for-purchase or for-rent units such as condominiums and townhouses located within the City of Falls Church. The City negotiates with developers to sell/rent these homes at a price below the market value to households with low and moderate incomes.
