A Falls Church man died in a construction accident in McLean Tuesday morning, according to the Fairfax County Police and Fire Rescue Department.

The deceased man was identified as Juan Francisco Cerna Alfaro, 36, of Falls Church.

Fairfax County Police and Fire Rescue Department units responded Tuesday to a vacant home in the 1000 block of Kinglet Court for a report of a construction accident and upon arrival found the man dead in a trench next to the home. Police say the man and several other co-workers were digging the 15-foot trench when the man fell into the trench and dirt collapsed around him.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigators responded. The investigation continues.
