Free Class on Brain Fitness to Begin Sept. 5

The Falls Church Community Center will offer a free six-session Great Course program, “Optimizing Brain Fitness,” on Thursdays from Sept. 5 to Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. – noon. Great Courses are lectures on DVD given by professors who have been voted “outstanding” by faculty and students.

This course will be presented by Dr. Richard Restak, award-winning professor of neurology at George Washington University, and will cover improving memory, sharpening attention, and enhancing learning and creativity. Participants will watch and listen to Restak on DVD and then discuss the content. A facilitator will lead the discussion.

The program is sponsored by AgingUp, an interfaith organization that addresses quality-of-life issues for people age 55 and over in McLean and Falls Church.

To register for the class, contact Tracy Browand at 703-248-5020 or tbrowand@fallschurchva.gov by Aug. 30. For more information, contact Ellen Salsbury at ellensals@aol.com.
