The Fireball Angels, an Annandale Boys and Girls Club Under-12 recreational soccer team, won its age group at Fairfax Police Youth Club’s Father’s Day All-Star tournament last month. Competing in the top division of the tournament, the Annandale team beat out five other teams for the top spot. The team advanced to the championship game by beating teams from Loudoun and McLean, and tying a La Plata, Maryland team. In the final game, they had a rematch against the La Plata Freedom. After 60 minutes of tough regulation play, the game was tied at 2-2, forcing extra time. Scoring in the first extra period, the Fireball Angels held on to win 3-2.
