TJ Student Colter Adams Awarded Scholarship for Eco-Adventure

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School fourth-grader Colter Adams will be taking an eco-adventure to Acadia National Park in Maine for winning a Craig Tufts Educational Scholarship from the Craig Tufts Educational Fund and National Wildlife Federation.

Adams won a national nature essay-writing contest for the award last year, and was set to attend the Family Nature Summit with his family last summer. But Adams broke his leg just days before the trip and was unable to attend. Instead, he has been invited to go on this year’s summit with the 2013 contest winner. Next month, he will spend a week enjoying outdoor activities and learning from biologists, naturalists, and other experts.
