2 Candidates Announce Plans to Run for F.C. City Council

With the June 11 filing deadline approaching, two more Falls Church citizens officially announced they’re throwing their hat in the ring to run for the Falls Church City Council today. Both made their announcements at today’s monthly luncheon of the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce. Marybeth Connelly, community outreach coordinator for the Falls Church City Schools, and Dan Sze, who served on the City Council from 2006-2010, began circulating their petitions at the event.

To date the only other officially announced candidate to fill one of four seats on the seven-member Council that will be contested in the November election is Vice Mayor David Snyder. It is expected, given the requirements to qualify for the ballot and the impending deadline, that most candidates for the City Council and School Board will be circulating petitions at the City’s annual Memorial Day parade and festival on Monday.
