Hawkeye to Sign & Discuss ‘Buddhist Boot Camp’ Book

Arlington independent bookstore One More Page Books will present an evening with author Timber Hawkeye next Thursday, March 21, at the Arlington Central Library.

Hawkeye will discuss and sign Buddhist Boot Camp, his collection of stories and teachings offering mindfulness-enhancing techniques. This event is open to the public and admission is free.

A longtime student of world religion, Buddhism, and psychology, Hawkeye sought out less complicated depictions of the Buddha’s teachings than those taught by Tibetan temples and Zen monasteries. Believing that people are more interested in positive inspirations and motivations rather than ceremonies and rituals, he envisioned a book that would empower readers to not necessarily be Buddhist, but rather a Buddha, through gratitude and a consistent goal to be compassionate and kind.

The idea behind Hawkeye’s Buddhist Boot Camp combines boot camp – a training method for the body – with Buddhism – a training method for the mind.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Arlington Central Library is located at 1015 N. Quincy St., Arlington. For more information, visit onemorepagebooks.com.
