F.C. Rotary Speech Contest Winners Announced

Local high school students who participated in the annual Falls Church Rotary Club speech contest are pictured above with their families and a teacher who attended the contest on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Harvest Moon Restaurant. The three student participants (at center, from left to right) were Bishop O’Connell High School junior Rhys Bergeron, George Marshall High School junior Tiffany Chong, and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology senior Kyle Angelotti. They are flanked by Bergeron’s parents on the left and his teacher, Mary Lou Wentzel, on the right. Chong’s parents and sister are on the far right. Angelotti was awarded $100 for his first-place speech and will advance to the area speech contest. Chong and Bergeron earned $75 and $50 second- and third-place awards, respectively.
