Mary Ellen Henderson Closed Again Thursday

Officials announced tonight that Falls Church’s Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School will remain closed for a second straight day tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 6.

For the second time this school year, the recently-constructed middle school was closed Wednesday due to a sewage leak and sink hole, detected after the closing of school on Tuesday. The earlier event this year involved a failed pump causing sewage to leak beneath the floor of the locker room. The current issue is outside the building and involves a sink hole and the cracking of a sewer line. While both involve the sewer system, workers say the two are unrelated.
