Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center Gala to Honor Supporters

The Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center, an award-winning preschool that has served children and families at all levels of the economic spectrum since 1968, will honor retiring Executive Director Elizabeth Page and other supporters at its “Building Blocks: Giving Children a Strong Foundation” gala next Thursday from 6 – 9:30 p.m. at Westwood Country Club in Vienna.

The event will include a reception and silent auction, followed by dinner and awards. Special activities, including a building block competition, will raise funds to establish the Elizabeth Page Scholarship Fund for At-Risk Children. Sponsorships are available by calling 703-534-4907.

CBS-WNEW radio anchor Jenny Glick will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies. Proceeds will help keep the preschool accessible to low-income families and their at-risk children in order to prepare them for kindergarten learning. Honorees at the event will include: elected officials Virginia Senator Janet Howell, Virginia Delegate Jim Scott, Fairfax County Supervisor John Foust; faith groups Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Lewinsville Presbyterian Church, and St. John’s Episcopal Church, all in McLean; foundations O’Shaughnessy-Hurst Memorial Foundation, McLean Community Foundation, Devotion to Children, and Civitan Club of Tysons Corner; and corporations PNC Bank, Cox Charities, and MorganFranklin.
