Mason to Stage ‘Xanadu’ Musical this Fall

“Xanadu” has been announced as the George Mason High School fall musical.

“Xanadu” is based on the cult classic film of the same name starring Olivia Newton-John. The musical tells the story of a Greek muse who, disguised as a roller skater named Kira, tries to inspire Sonny to create a roller disco and the forbidden love that results.

Rehearsals began this week for “Xanadu,” which will be Shawn Northrip’s first production as the school’s new theater director.

“Xanadu” will be performed Nov. 15, 16, and 17.
