‘Deferred Action’ Cases OK’d for Driver’s Licences

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has confirmed in writing that young people granted “deferred action” status by Immigration Customs Enforcement at the Department of Homeland Security will be eligible for Virginia driver’s licenses and ID’s, according to the state’s American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The statement was made in response to a request from the ACLU sent to DMV Commissioner Richard Holcomb last week.
