Food Drive Bags in F.C. Home Deliveries for Memorial Day

Recipients of News-Press home deliveries in the 22046 zip code will find plastic grocery bags there designed to encourage participation in the annual food drive held from Memorial Day to July 4 in Falls Church. The drive is co-sponsored by the News-Press and Diener and Associates, CPAs, and this is its 20th year. The food received is delivered directly to the Food for Others program based in Merrifield at no charge to them (acquiring food from central food bank locations in D.C., for example, involves a cost).

Non-perishable food supplies can be carried to Monday’s Memorial Day festival at City Hall, and left at the News-Press booth in the City Hall parking lot. Or they can be dropped in specially-marked boxes at the following City locations until July 4: 1. News-Press office, 200 Little Falls St., Suite 508, 2. Diener and Associates, 125 Rowell Court, 3. Anthony’s Restaurant, 309 W. Broad St., 4. Unity Club, 120 W. Broad St., 5. Point of View Eyewear, 701 W. Broad St., 6. Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St., 7. Falls Church Art & Frame, 111 Park Ave.
