City Police to Teach Rape Aggression Defense Classes

The City of Falls Church Police Department is offering a free Rape Aggression Defense program to teach realistic self-defense tactics and techniques to women, 12 years of age and older.

The course is offered in four three-hour sessions. Classes will be held at Columbia Baptist Church, 103 W. Columbia St., Falls Church, from 6 – 9 p.m. on April 10, 12, 17 and 19. Participants are required to attend all four sessions.

The RAD System is a comprehensive, women-only course that addresses awareness, prevention, risk reduction, risk avoidance, and the basics of hands-on self-defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program. Nationally certified RAD instructors from the City of Falls Church Police Department teach the course.
