American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life Coming to F.C.

At the second annual American Cancer Society Bark For Life of Falls Church, set for April 22, residents will have the opportunity to fight back against cancer alongside their canine companions.

American Cancer Society Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. This event was created to celebrate the caregiving qualities that dogs provide to their human companions during a cancer diagnosis.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the event taking place from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Madison Park (334 Lawton St., Falls Church).

The event will begin with a short walk and then will feature speakers who have experienced the special relationships that dogs provide; a special ceremony honoring both humans and canines that have battled cancer; pet talent, costume and beauty contests; and plenty of opportunities to play and socialize with your canine friends.
The registration fee for each dog is $25.

Pets in attendance must be leashed and with current tags or vaccination papers. Pet owners must be prepared to clean up after their pets.

All proceeds of this event will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Falls Church. For more information on volunteering, becoming a sponsor, or participating in the American Cancer Society Bark For Life, call 1-800-227-2345 or log on to RelayForLife.org/BarkFallsChurch.
