Timber Lane Event to Feature International Activities

The community is invited to Timber Lane Elementary School for an evening of food, fashion and fun hosted by the Timber Lane Parent Teacher Association Friday from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Starting in the gym, there will be international performances and a fashion show featuring students modeling attire from around the world. Immediately following the performances, crafts and activities will open in different rooms around the school. Activities include making kites and rain sticks and learning how to play Nsolo (an African game similar to Mancala).

From 7:10 to 8 p.m., an international food tasting will take place in the cafeteria and the Dance Party of the Americas with DJ Popone will be held in the gym. Those attending are encouraged to bring a dish for the food tasting.

For more on how to volunteer for this event, contact Elisa Meara at elisameara@yahoo.com or 571-499-8378.

Timber Lane Elementary School is located at 2737 West St., Falls Church. For more information, call 703-206-5300.
