Mason Grad Commissioned as Marine Corps Officer

Mester-4631Falls Church native and 2007 George Mason High School graduate Edward Vincent Hickey IV was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps on Friday, Dec. 16, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico after graduating from Officer Candidates School.

Hickey – pictured above at left with U.S. Navy Captain Ted Lucas at the United States Marine Corps Museum – was selected to attend Officer Candidates School after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Diego in May 2011, where he was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma, Kappa Gamma Pi, Omicron Delta Epsilon, and Mortar Board honor societies.
