F.C. Scouts Lay Wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery

IMAG0077Boy Scouts representing Falls Church Troop 349 were among the volunteers laying memorial wreaths on graves at Arlington National Cemetery Dec. 10. The effort, sponsored by the non-profit organization Wreaths Across America, began in the early 1990s as a way to remember and honor veterans.

Morrill Worcester, owner of the Maine-based Worcester Wreath company had visited Arlington National Cemetery as a 12 year old boy, and never forgot that experience. Today, Wreaths Across America founded by Worcester, his family, veterans groups and other volunteers, pays tribute annually on the second Saturday in December to fallen heroes across the country from Pearl Harbor in Hawaii to the 9/11 sites.
