Police responded to a CPR in progress in the 7500 block of Parkwood Court in the Falls Church area on Saturday, Dec. 10, around 4 p.m. A two-month old baby girl was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
On Monday, Dec. 12, police charged the father, Francis Reed, 21, of Red Rock Court in Vienna, with child abuse and he was taken into custody. Later that day, the two-month old, Amber Reed, died.
This is the tenth homicide in Fairfax County for 2011.
