Moves Afoot to Bring ‘Body Dynamics’ to F.C.

Much of the long-vacant ground floor retail place at Falls Church’s new Pearson Square mixed use project on S. Maple St. may be filled early next year if the Falls Church City Council and Planning Commission OK a measure to modify the acceptable uses in the space to accommodate Body Dynamics, a fast-growing wellness and physical therapy service that has outgrown the space it’s occupied in Arlington since 1995.

Jennifer and Mario Gamboa’s enterprise is looking to lease 9,700 square feet at Pearson Square, filling almost half the available space there. With two other enterprises already there (including the ArtSpace Falls Church) the Body Dynamics would bring the space to 75 percent of capacity. The plan was presented to a joint meeting of the Council and Planning Commission at a work session Monday and met with a positive response, although no votes were taken. It will come to a first vote this Monday. Planners Bob Loftur-Thun and and Lindy Hockenberry both called the proposal “exciting.”
