F.C. Veteran Places Wreath at Tomb of Unknown Soldier

WreathIn honor of Veteran’s Day week ceremonies throughout the Washington area, four members of the Combat Infantrymen’s Association experienced a rare and distinct privilege on Thursday, Nov. 10, when they placed a wreath at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

In a short ceremony, James D. Kyzer, of Elgin, S.C.; Steve Lynch, of Burlington, N.C.; John Bauer, of Bloomsburg, Pa.; and Blaine P. Friedlander, of Falls Church, marched to the tomb and, as taps was played, the veterans placed the wreath at the tomb.

Kyzer, Lynch and Bauer are all veterans of the Vietnam War. Friedlander, deputy commander of Region 7, is a veteran of the Korean War.
