Trio Earns Veteran’s Council Awards for Service

vetsAwards were given at the Greater Falls Church Veteran’s Council picnic and awards ceremony earlier this month in Cherry Hill Park.

Pictured above are, (from left to right) Tony Scerbo, who received the “Lifetime Achievement Award,” is a World War II veteran and member of the American Legion Post 130 in Falls Church; Sally Cole, who received the “Veterans’ Best Friend Award” for support provided in her role as executive director of the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce; and Harry Shovlin, who received the “Veteran of the Year Award” and has regularly served as the Master of Ceremonies at the annual Veterans Day and Memorial Day remembrances held at the Falls Church Veterans Memorial.
