Safety Gate Installed at Mason, MEH Parking Lot

A new safety gate has been installed at the Leesburg Pike entrance to the George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School parking lot.

Beginning Friday morning, the gate will only be open during school pick-up and drop-off times, and when school is not in session.

The installation addresses two safety concerns: reducing the number of close calls between pedestrians and drivers cutting through the lot to avoid the Haycock Road light, and preventing commuters from making an illegal U-turn in the driveway from Route 7.
