Volunteers Invited to Plant Trees with City, VPIS this Fall

Community volunteers are invited to plant trees on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 8:30 a.m. and Saturday, Nov. 5, at 8:30 a.m. as part of a City of Falls Church and Village Preservation and Improvement Society initiative.

On planting days, volunteers should wear boots or heavy shoes and gloves, and should bring a shovel if they are able.

The group will provide extra tools and light refreshments.

The Neighborhood Tree Program is a partnership between the City of Falls Church, the Village Preservation and Improvement Society, and uses the efforts of volunteers to help restore and maintain a healthy tree canopy in the City by raising funds to purchase trees, educating residents and using contributed labor to reduce costs. Native shade trees are planted within 15 feet of the curb.
