Works by ‘Crock’ Cartoonist Sons on Display at ArtSpace

Two brothers who are members of Falls Church Arts will be the next artists featured in the FCA ArtWORKS series this month, an educational series for local art students young and old to meet and learn from professional artists who make a living as full time artists. This annual educational series opens doors for those who are considering a career in art or want to improve their marketing or artistic skills.

Kevin and Jeff Rechin both enjoyed childhoods shaped by the larger than life influence of their cartoonist father, Bill Rechin creator of the nationally syndicated comic strip “Crock,” who died in May 2011 of cancer.

Jeff is recognized as one of the preeminent sculptors of wildfowl art in the United States. Kevin’s work has since appeared in many major American publications, including, Time, Smithsonian, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Texas Monthly and National Geographic among others.

Jeff’s work will be on display between Oct. 6 and 16 at ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple Ave., Falls Church. Kevin’s work will be on display Oct. 20 – 30.
