Falls Church Releases Status Report Of All Gambling Citation at Eden Center

The City of Falls Church’s Public Information Office today released a comprehensive status report regarding the 20 citations issued alledging illegal gambling at the Eden Center in Falls Church on Aug. 11. The report follows the exoneration of five of the 20 individuals cited in the Falls Church General District Court yesterday.

The City provided the following:

“Here is the overall status on the 20 gambling cases from the Eden Center that were investigated by the Northern Virginia Gang Task Force:

On August 17, 2011, 1 defendant (Thai Thanh Le) plead guilty to illegal gambling in violation of Va. Code Section 18.2-326. Case No. CL11-384. He was fined $100, plus court costs of $81.00.

On September 14, 2011, 1 defendant was found not guilty, and 4 other defendants had their cases nolle prosed by the prosecutor.

On October 5, 2011, 10 defendants have trial dates. All are charged with illegal gambling in violation of Va. Code Section 18.2-326.

On October 5, 2011, 1 defendant has a trial date for allowing gambling on his business premises in violation of Va. Code Section 18.2-329.

On November 2, 2011, 3 defendants have trial dates for illegal gambling in violation of Va. Code Section 18.2-326.
